The Study of the Brain: Introduction  

There are only a few simple rules to follow when studying anything everyone has.

  1. Don't assume. Just because you may think in images, does not mean everyone does. Just because you may think in words, does not mean everyone does.

  2. Don't impose. Just because you are human, does not mean things you observe that are not, can be compared. Don't impose what you know on what you learn. It is taking two steps back for every one you take forward.

  3. Don't induce. Just because what you observe reminds you of something already observed, does not mean it is the same thing. Don't use inductive reasoning.
